Where are your cars made from?

We source cars from around Asia to ensure that you get the best quality at the best price. It also depends on the make and model.

Are cars controlled by remote or can my child control it themselves?

All our cars can be operated by your young one. And depending on the vehicle will depend on if it has a parental remote control. To know which cars can also be controlled by remote control we have a “Remote Control” icon in the features section as well as the “What’s included” section. To switch from self/driver control to the remote is easy – it’s just a flick of a switch.

Can I arrange shipping myself?

For sure you can. Just select the “Pickup” option when you checkout and then in the “Order Notes” section let us know the details. Car dimensions and weight is on each page to give you a good idea of shipping costs.

How long will my car stay charged for?

A fully charged battery should last between 1 -2 hours depending on the surface the car is riding on, the weight the child and the frequency of it being driven. The flatter and smoother the surface, the longer the battery will last. After 100 recharges, you will start to notice that you won’t be getting the same run time between charges, please get in contact with us for spare parts and we can quote you on the replacement and delivery of a new battery. Please ensure that you DO NOT charge the battery for any longer than recommended hours (please refer to manual instruction provided). If the battery is charged for longer it will unfortunately cause permanent damage and you will need to replace it. You need to also ensure that you charge the battery at least once a month when not in use.

Can I leave the battery on charge?

No, Battery charge time must not exceed recommended charging hours or permanent damage to the cells will occur. The battery should also be charged every month when not in use.

Why number plates didn't arrive with my ride on

Accessories such as number personalised plates number plates are shipped out within 1-3 business days and will arrive separately from other order items, so don’t stress if they are not in the box with your ride on–they’re coming.

Where is Kids Cars located?

Our office is located in 29D Cartwright Road, Kelston 0602, Auckland, our products ship from both our Auckland warehouse and our many partner warehouses across New Zealand.

Are you an authorised dealer?

Yes, we are. Kids Cars is 100% authorised to sell the products we advertise on our website. This means that you get the full manufacturer warranty when you buy from KidsCars.co.nz.

When will I be contacted to confirm my order?

Once your order is placed you’ll receive an email to confirm your order details. At this point, we recommend you review the order details and contact us immediately if you notice any errors such as an incorrect address.

How do I check the status of my order?

As soon as your order ships we will email with your shipping information and tracking number. This allows you to easily track the daily progress of your order from one of our warehouses to your doorstep.

What are the best surfaces for my ride on car to operate on?

12 Volt ride on cars will go on most surfaces (tarmac, grass, gravel etc) 6 Volt ride ons are more suited to the harder tarmac surfaces but will operate on grass at a slower pace. Avoid uneven surfaces with more than 15 degrees height.

My Car doesn’t look exactly as shown in the picture?

To meet the global demand for these cars we have to use a number of different suppliers. We aim to keep the design as uniform as we can but some of the stickers used or small details may vary from car to car. We are also adding new features all the time and so the noise on horns or preset radio music may differ also.

My car has minor defects to the body work?

We work with all of our suppliers to help them manufacture the best product they can and still keep a great price for our customers. During the intricate manufacturing process the plastic has to be bent and molded which means the cars will have small indentations, light scratches and pressure marks on the body work where the machines are used. This does not affect the overall look of the car and they are great value for money and are packed with features such as, lights, remote control, music systems and more.

How fast will my ride on car go?

This will depend on the battery power. A 6 volt battery will operate the ride on at about 5kmph. A 12 volt will go about 7kmph.

Will COVID-19 affect my order?

No, we’re fully operational and shipping out kids cars as usual, following safe practices and shipping information please See more info here.

What surfaces can electric ride-on cars be used on?

Ride on cars for kids work great on tiles, concrete, decking, asphalt and most hard and flat surfaces. They are generally not suitable to use on surfaces like mud, thick grass, steep slopes and sand unless specified. We also discourage pushing the car manually. This forces too much load on the car which may lead to burning the motor & damage.

Do you have a showroom to see and test the ride on car in person?

Unfortunately we don’t have a showroom or Retails Shop with ride on cars on display, sorry. but we can show demo model at our warehouse which is at 29D Cartwright Road, Kelston 0602, Auckland, New Zealand, Please Call us at : 09 – 884 0369

How can I place an order?

Ordering online: Find a product you’d like to buy on our website and click on the add to cart button. Then, simply follow the instructions on the checkout page. If there were any options or upgrades that you may have missed, one of our custom service staff members will contact you either by email or phone before we process your order. Order by phone: Our expert staff will help you select your product based upon your individual requirements. We only stock the best brands and have the most competitive prices to ensure that you’ll be completely satisfied with every Kids Cars purchase you make. If you feel comfortable, go ahead and place your order online. But, feel free to give us a call if you need assistance. Ordering by Email: If you want to place your order through email, send us an email to sales@kidscars.co.nz and one of our staff members will get back to you as soon as possible with an invoice for your order.

When will I be contacted regarding the delivery?

After your order has shipped, we will email you with your shipping information. For large orders our shipping company may call you prior to delivery to confirm your address and ensure you know when your items are being delivered.

Do you have a printed catalogue?

Warranty, Assembly & Repairs

What warranty comes with the car?

We offer a six months’ parts replacement warranty only. In the event of a particular part failing, we will supply the parts required free of charge. In the event of an item not working after replacement parts are installed, the purchasee is responsible for the cost of returning the item to us. Postage costs will not be refunded by us. Batteries and chargers are not covered under the warranty and they must be handled and charged correctly.

Do you repair kids ride on cars? (outside warranty)

If you are having trouble getting your car going, not to worry, we can tune up your old ride on cars. Our price for an initial investigation is $30, and we won’t go ahead with repairs until we give you a quotation on required parts and labor. Please contact us for full details.

What about your quality and warranty?

We have strict quality control system from material to finished products, before products being released from factory, our Dept needs to do spot check strictly, and once products reaching your hands, please pay more attention on testing, you need to make sure all of them are all right in your hands.

Where can I find out more about warranty policies?

We provide a 07-day seller’s guarantee on all products and full manufacturer’s warranty. The goods we sell come with terms and guarantees that are covered under New Zealand Consumer Law. The Kids Cars Guarantee provides assurances that if the item you ordered becomes faulty and is no longer performing as it should be within 07-days from receipt of the goods, you are welcome to submit a claim for either a repair, replacement or a refund. You are provided with the peace of mind that troubleshooting and investigation will take place to assure the problem is identified and a resolution is provided in a timely manner. Shipping & Delivery

How do I get a shipping estimate?

Once you’ve found the product you would like to purchase, click Add to cart. From there you’ll be taken to your cart page where you can see the shipping calculator. Select your state and add postcode then click “Calculate Shipping”. The rate will be calculated for everything in the cart.

How soon will my order leave your warehouse?

We pride ourselves on giving you the best possible service. So, we work hard to get your order shipped out within 1-3 business days. As soon as your product is shipped, we send you an email with tracking details so you can login and see when your product is due to arrive.

How long does shipping take?

Some brands are shipped direct from our suppliers’ warehouses throughout New Zealand. Check NZ post website to give you a rough estimating of shipping times. Check the brand and see the estimated shipping time to your state.

Can you deliver to a P.O Box?

No, sorry. We must have a registered address to ship to. We cannot deliver to a P.O Box.

Can I pick up my product?

Yes, absolutely you can product from our Auckland warehouse which is located at 29D Cartwright Road, Kelston 0602, Auckland, New Zealand.
